During Lent, many people change their diets and they may or may not eat certain foods on certain days. Some people fast to cleanse the body as a sacrifice and as a way to get closer to a spiritual power. Lent last for 40 days starting Ash Wednesday and ending on Easter.  For observant families that give up meat, on Friday nights during Lent, the dietary restriction does not mean restricting flavor.

Hey everyone a couple of weeks ago, I was selected to be a General Hospital Brand Ambassador. I’m very happy to have been selected and hope, that I can fill those shoes well.

I have been watching this soap opera since I was 15 years old and trust me, I’m up in age now so I’ve been watching this show for a very long time. I’ve seen charactors come and go and come back again.

15 Bean Soup

Hi everyone I hope that everyone had a great Valentine’s Day. Today, I decided that I would talk about the 15 bean soup that I cooked the other day. It was totally awesome. The one thing I like about the this soup is you can put just about whatever you want into it ham, ham hocks or you can eat it with no meat at all creating the textures and flavors that you are looking for.

Ingredients:

1 bag of 15 beans
1 medium onion
1 Clove of garlic
2 Celery stalks
1 Bay Leaf
1 Teaspoon cumin
1 Teaspoon white pepper
1 Teaspoon salt
1 Teaspoon Thyme
1 Teaspoon Oregano

Hey everyone I know the weather has probably got stuck in the house but this is the time I try to cook what are comfort foods to me.  I love roasted chicken I like it  just as much as I like fried chicken and on a certain day, it will win hands down.  I enjoy when the chicken has a nice crust on the skin and when you cut or bite into it, it’s nice and juicy.

Philly Cheese Steak Not Just For The Super Bowl!

I though I would do a re blog on a sandwich that is my son Jordan’s favorite because of him, this sandwich was created.  This is a sandwich we eat a lot up North because we have many Cony Islands there.  Since I’ve been in  Alabama, I’ve only seen one and it was downtown and their speciality was hot dogs, Don’t sound like a Cony Island to me!  LOL

Ingredients

2 Rib eye Steaks thinly sliced

1 Whole Green Pepper

1 Medium Onion

3 Slices of Swiss Cheese or more

Plain Old Biscuits Is It Easy Or Hard!

Sunday, February 7th, 2010

Hey  guys, this is definitely going to be one of my Boo Boo posts and I feel good about sharing my boo boos cause that just lets you all know, I make mistakes too.  Mac and Cheese used to be a problem for me but I got that one down pat so, I have to move on to the next problem child. I have been trying and trying to make a decent biscuit.  It doesn’t have to be the perfect biscuit because I really don’t think there is such a thing or maybe, their not suppose to be perfect.  I really don’t know but I do know I’m not good at making them.  So, this will be a project we shall all work on together and we will learn together.

Hey everyone hope all is well today. Jeez I’m finally able to sit and relax and enjoy my dinner I cooked today. Lamb happens to be another one of my favorite meats to cook and actually it’s not hard at all. I know I’ve heard from some people they just don’t like it because of the strong taste that it has. Now I have to admit I only like my lamb chops as you see them above which is called french cut. Most of the time I have a very hard time finding them.
